“Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man. Sooner or later the man who wins, is the man who thinks he can.”
I have never been a star athlete, I’ve never been the fastest runner, or better yet even get to play much my senior year…But I can honestly say, that I have never given up & I’ve always known that I can do anything I set my mind to. Even after I was on a team where I didn’t play near as much as I wanted to.
One night after we lost, the coach took us back to the gym to do some very intense drills. She said, “Whoever the last six players are that don’t give up, will be the new starting six on the court”. Even after I was one of the last six, I still didn’t get my chance. But that’s not the point. Why I’m saying this is because no matter what the outcome is, never give up. Always push yourself. And encourage others and have a positive attitude, because you never know who’s watching. For example, after games my mom would tell me sweet & encouraging things other parents would say about how they respected my attitude and character when they knew it was hard for me to sit, cheer, and watch my senior year…So smile. You might not get the chance to hear what others think of you, but I guarantee that you have people that look up to you and think the world of you.
Life is going to throw battles. Big and small. But it’s your choice how you handle those obstacles…It hurts me to think that you will have situations happen in your life where you seriously don’t think you can go on. You are wrong. You have to know that you can do it and never quit…A hard time for me was volleyball my senior year…It was so hard watching others play, but it was an even bigger reward getting to cheer on my teammates & hear from them how much they loved me as their teammate. I am still proud of myself to this day for never quitting. I’m not really sure what the point of this was, besides the obvious…It’s not always the fastest or stronger person that wins…It’s the person who thinks they CAN. On an ending note, I’m wanting to pursue my love for modeling. I know I’m not perfect, but I’m ME. And it’s something I want to do for fun. Basically I’m really trying to get into shape. I know I’m not big, but I also know that I’m not healthy for my size. So I don’t like it when someone say that I don’t need to lose weight. It’s not about weight, it’s about a healthier me and a healthier life style. And I’m really starting to love everything about working out…It does get tough at times so I’m doing this note so I can remind myself that I can do anything. It’s all about being determined & knowing that I CAN do it. Nothing worth having comes easy. Time to work for it!!
I (and you) can do anything through Christ who gives me strength. :) P.S. I don’t know if anyone is even going to read this haha, but Coach C was my absolute favorite coach that I’ve ever had. So I didn’t want anyone to read this and think otherwise. She pushed me and encouraged me when I really needed it. And was such a great coach. She is such an amazing person that inspires me still. I will always look up to her.Oh and my calendar says it all…MY STRENGTH COMES FROM HIM :)
